Arvada Blunn Reservoir
The Arvada/Blunn Reservoir site, which is owned and operated by the City of Arvada, is open to the public for fishing, hiking, and boating.
The reservoir serves as an important water source for the city of Arvada, supplying the city with 25% of its drinking water. For this reason, sports such as wind surfing, swimming, water skiing, tubing and scuba diving are not permitted. Pets are not allowed. Because of the relatively small size of the reservoir and for water quality reasons, gas-powered boats are prohibited. However, electric trolling motors are permitted. The Arvada Blunn Reservoir is located at 18915 W. 64th Parkway.
Use of Boats on Arvada Reservoir and the Zebra and Quagga Mussels
- Trailer-mounted boats will have a new quarantine period of 14 days. This program involves inspection of the boat and trailer, and the installation of a tag connecting the boat and the trailer demonstrating that the boat has not been launched on another reservoir. Boaters who use Arvada Reservoir exclusively will notice very little impact and in fact if your boat is tagged from last year you do not need to have it re-inspected.
- Car top carry boats such as canoes, kayaks, and other small craft that are transported on the top of a vehicle will be inspected on the day of use. If clean and dry, they will be allowed to launch.
* Wet (aquatic) bait is prohibited, as the water from which they originated may carry mussel larvae. This includes, but is not limited to, minnows, leeches, frogs, crayfish, and salamanders.
Arvada Reservoir is open to fishing seven days a week,
April 1st through May 31st 6:30 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.
June 1st through closing, October 31st 5:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M.
