Arvada, 10 Other Cities Announce Regional Wifi Plans
Arvada has joined ten neighboring communities to form Colorado Wireless Communities (CWC), a consortium with the goal of enabling a comprehensive, low cost wireless broadband network for residents, businesses, institutions, and visitors. The CWC consists of Arvada, Boulder, Broomfield, Golden, Lakewood, Louisville, Northglenn, Superior, Thornton, and Wheat Ridge. The group plans to release an RFP in January to attract a vendor to build, own and operate the wireless broadband network stretching across all ten communities. A wireless network could improve the efficiency of government, promote digital inclusion, and stimulate economic development.
