Dogs and their human companions have enjoyed this annual goodbye-to-summer rite for many years. Due to its increasing popularity, it recently expanded to the two outdoor pools, and this year it’s on two separate days. On Sunday, August 19 from 11 am to 1 pm, the dog swim is at Lake Arbor, 7451 W. 83rd Way. One week later, on Sunday, August 26 from 11 am to 1 pm, it’s at Secrest Pool, 6820 W. 66th Ave. There will be refreshments, fun and activities for canines and humans both. The cost is $5 for dogs, and human buddies swim for free. Watch for more info at apexprd.org.
